Noodle has been very busy with her cousin Coco updating her repertoire, for your perusal :)

Belated Sicky Noodle Conehead Pictures :)

Still cuteness even when sicky. She is absolutely all mended now after her operation and is sprightly and as mischievous as ever! Totally played on it though, even the Nurse said so :) But we let her, yep she is a spoilt dog (in a good way!)

Meaty kisses xxx

Autumn Days

There’s nothing nicer than a walk with Noodle, stomping through the park in your wellies and then coming home exhausted, cold and wet but happy!

Yes, yes, another Picture2Life collage, what can I say but I’m mad on ‘em!

Let sleeping dogs lie....

Noodle has had a very busy weekend playing with my Mum’s dog Coco. The furbabies have been chasing, playing tug, running, going on walks together and thoroughly enjoyed being together. they were lovely to watch.

Noodle has a cold, she is tired and so is enjoying sleeping with me today on the couch. Snuggling down with the duvet when it is not very nice outside is so nice xxxx

Walkies

“Whenever I feel like exercise, I lie down until the feeling passes.” - Robert M. Hutchins

My sister sent me a card with the above quote on, it did make me giggle as I do need to get on with the exercise! I need to walk a lot more.

As a consequence of her operation Noodle has been restricting in terms of exercise, no excited running and jumping, no off the lead wandering and restricted walks. So she has been a more than a little wired to say the least. When she was finally given the all clear and the stitches were removed we decided to go to the local park to celebrate.

She gets so excited and most of the time that cheery bubble of energy is infectious (as long as the pulling does not happen near a road). On Saturday it reminded me of how important her walks are, both to her and to us. I saw this quote that said if your dog is fat then you’re not getting enough exercise, it is so true. So now we are healed it’s time to get on those stomping shoes!

Happy walkies xxxx

Better :)

Noodle has had her stitches out and the Vet said we are free to go back to normal. Noodle is so back to normal I tell you! So far we have had to tell her off copious times for jumping up for food and begging, shout at her for walking (like she is a cat) on the ledge near the stairs (that one gives me a heart attack I tell you!), run like maniacs round the park to tire her out, play tuggy and chase all day long and we also have to keep fishing her out of our bed. So I would say she is back to Noodle wellness :)

Getting there

Noodle is definitely on the mend and a minor celeb at our vets. Dan didn’t even have to give his name or hers today when taking Noodle for a pre-check check-up. Just strolled on in with the dog in a baby-gro and was told to take a seat. The nurses and vets coo over our dog and she loves going there because of it!

She is definitely feeling better, full of life and healing wounds :) As I type on my laptop in the lounge she has positioned herself on the recliner and pulled a couple of cushions on there, making herself at home or what!?! :D Thankfully the worst seems to be over!

Fingers crossed for Saturday, let’s hope the stitches can come out!

The Mending Post

So Noodle is sporting a rather fetching baby vest (all in one), bought from home bargains for the bargainous price of £1.75. Why you cry?! Because she can’t stop itching. She has the collar to prevent her from licking but that doesn’t stop her stabby paws scratching away at her mid section. Not good for healing wounds. So now when we are not able to watch her, we get the morose look from her as we fit the collar and fasten the poppers on the suit. She is so not impressed!

But the suit has worked a little and the itching has gone down slightly. It means she can just wear the suit when she is with us and only has to wear the collar at night or when we are out. Dan and I are doing our best to clam her down - she is excitable, after all she is just past 6 months and so is only a puppy - but all our effort fall on flat ears. She jumps off things, climb things , jumps up - no amount of “You’ve just had major surgery, No!” seems to work. The vets were helpful (not) in that we were simply told to not let her do these things but not given advice on how to get them to stop. Fingers crossed we have done enough and it is healing properly X and that the stitches do come out as planned on Saturday!

Update

Noodle is now back home - thank goodness. She is a little quiet, has a war wound and is very tired. But she walked to the car, no problem and is now chilling out on a cushion on the couch next to me. I think that everything has gone okay, it’s just a time and healing game now.

The Nurse didn’t want her to go, said she had been charming them all :)

That’s our Noodle!

Today's the day to Spay

Well today is a beautiful day, the sun is shining here after a very wet couple of days and we were up bright and early. We have a routine in our family y’see. Morning comes and Noodle (our now 6 month old Cavalier) scratches on the door to be let out (she sleeps in the kitchen). One of us goes to let her out, straight to the garden “to be clean” and then straight back into our flat for loves and kisses. She then dashes straight into the bedroom to give kisses to the dozing partner by leaping on our bed and excitedly saying hello.

The licky kisses is totally my fault. She was very bitey as a pup and I tried everything to quell it. Sharp nos, harsh sounds, light taps on the nose and nothing really seemed to work, until I came across a fabulous post on the internet. Basically to curb biting you teach kisses instead and there’s a reward for kisses (in the beginning anyway :D). So Noodle loves to give kisses now and she understands not to bite us. Instead she plays, mouths and uses her mouth to move your hand (normally onto her belly for tickles) so she is so much better!

Anyway today Noodle has gone to the Vets to be spayed. D and I thought long and hard about this decision, Dan’s family has always had dogs and so they had in the past had one of their dogs spayed. Their opinions on the matter were that they wouldn’t do it again, as some of them felt thedog had changed after the operation. This was roughly 20 years ago, methods, medicine and literature has changed since then. Dan and I felt to be responsible pet owners we should do it, I read a lot about it and also checked the opinions of some of the more famous dog organisations/people - for example I really admire both Victoria Stilwell and Cesar Millan. Both, on their shows and in their books, state how they emphatically believe in the spaying and neutering of dogs and bitches.

In addition to this I read lots, spoke to the Vets and chatted to my husband. We wanted to keep Noodle safe and happy. Protect her and keep her healthy for longer and so we chose this course of action. I am happy with that decision but that doesn’t mean as I sit here that I’m not anxious about leaving my dog there alone and not concerned about her recovery. Fingers crossed the operation is going well and that my furbaby is home this evening relaxing with us.

I will update you all as to the outcome asap :)

Prayers xxx
